Heterometrus laoticus

Heterometrus laoticus is a species of scorpion in the family Scorpionidae, native to Southeast Asia. This species, like other members of the genus Heterometrus, is large and robust. This is generally one of the best beginner-type scorpions you can find due to their large size, ease of care and temperament.

HABITAT

🌍 Geographic Range:

As the name suggests, Heterometrus laoticus is native to Laos in Southeast Asia, though it is also found in nearby regions such as northern Vietnam and Thailand.

These scorpions are typically found in tropical forests, caves, and undergrowth areas, where they seek refuge in burrows or under rocks and leaf litter.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Typically black and matt all over it's body. .Generally matt black. Dark brown/black coloured telson from young to adult. H. laoticus have a very green hue under sunlight.

H. laoticus usuallly have stocky builds.They do not have granulation on their carapace or along their tergites making them a very easy species to identify.
