🌍 Geographic Range: 

Found in tropical rainforests across Southeast Asia, including countries like Borneo, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

The species is especially associated with Borneo, but reliable records also exist from other parts of the region. Earlier reports from countries such as India, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam are now considered likely misidentifications of other Heterometrus species rather than true H. longimanus.

🏡 Microhabitat Preferences:

Heterometrus longimanus inhabits the moist, shaded environments of tropical rainforests, where it shelters beneath logs, rocks, and dense leaf litter on the forest floor. It is a nocturnal species, remaining hidden during the day and emerging at night to hunt, and it relies on the constant warmth and humidity of rainforest habitats to thrive. 

Although it is primarily associated with undisturbed forest, it can sometimes be found in secondary or disturbed forest areas as long as there is sufficient cover and moisture to maintain the damp microclimates it requires.
